Celebrating 100 years the National Park Services, Yellowstone National Park had a 3% increase in visitors this September, and this couldn't make me happier. As one of the lucky kids when I was growing up, visiting this park will always be with me. This article is just a short article showing how visitors increased this year thanks to decreased gas prices and The National Park Services 100th birthday. I encourage everyone to look into, not only Yellowstone, but all of the other national parks that the United States has to offer. The more visitors the parks get, the more money they get to update the services they provide. They offer great learning tools for kids, beautiful sites you can't see anywhere else, and interactive activities that get the adults involved along side the kids. Yellowstone National Park has had its share of ups and downs, but no matter what this park will always be beautiful, different, and memorable.

Doughnuts for Days

Who doesn't love doughnuts?! With all the tension going on in our world today, this little dude did his part in bringing smiles to the faces of the men and women in charge of protecting us. Some may say cops are evil, but with almost every profession in America you have good and bad professionals. I will always support our men and women in blue and love seeing someone of the younger generation doing something to bring them a few minutes of happiness.

Laughing Away the Stresses of My Day(or weeks!)

So I decided to do something different this week. My life right now is full of roller coasters and bumper cars, so I really needed a laugh. I literally looked up funny articles and found the one listed below. I chose this one because honestly if some noises don't annoy you then you're not human and need to teach me your tricks! I love all the descriptive detail she uses throughout the entire article. I giggled at some and laughed out loud at others. Some I can definitely relate to and the one noise that drives me absolutely insane is when my fiance snores! He doesn't just snore like a regular person, he somehow manages to snore while breathing out and sometimes even blows slight bubbles through this process! When it awakes me from my slumber I almost have to chuckle, but then I remember that I was peacefully sleeping away the stresses of life when my lumberjack snore machine starts his engine! Thankfully he rolls over to his side when I nudge him because he's finally learned that I will not relent in my nagging until he does. If you are looking for a little laugh about something everyone deals with I suggest taking a few minutes to read the article below.

For the Love of Dogs

I am a person that would put my dog before most people. Toffee(my great dane/bullmastiff) is pretty much my child and if it came down to her or my fiance.....I would probably chose her, but SSSHHHHHHHH!!!! The reason I bring up Toffee is because of the book A Man of His Own by Susan Wilson. In this book you will see life through the eyes of Pax, a German Shepard that was found by Rick when he was just a puppy, Rick who found Pax alone in the middle of a cold wintery night, Francesca the lucky woman who caught Rick's eye and fell in love at first sight(and had to be accepted by Pax which was no easy feat), and Keller a young soldier whose only family was Pax. Each person and dog goes through struggles that without one another would be nearly impossible to get through. The love and support that Pax is able to give his humans, brings them together in a weird but necessary way in order to make everyone involved happy.  If you're looking for a tear jerking, inspirational book, I definitely suggest looking into this book.

Winter Is Coming

The famous phrase from the infamous Stark family. If you have no idea what I'm talking about I highly suggest taking the time to read The Game of Thrones. Now I won't lie, I kind of cheated because as I was reading book one and two, I began watching Season 1 Episode 1 and became addicted to both the books and the TV series. The books are captivating to say the least and George R R Martin delivers in bringing out all sorts of emotions, entertainment presents itself on every page, you become educated on ancient cities, cultures, and creatures, and you are immersed into a world that can show you a way of life you never thought possible. I quickly fell in love with a family who wasn't perfect, but for the most part loved one another for who they were. I was introduced to dire wolves, which lead to my heart breaking, but made me appreciate the love my own dog showers me in daily. The struggles each individual family member went through had me cheering at their triumphs, irritably yelling at their not so smart decisions, balling through their heart aches, and leaves me wanting to go back in time to meet them. In a world where you never know who you will meet next, or who the next person to die will be, you are constantly left on the edge of your seat.

My First Blog
I am about to dip my toes into the Blogging world for my English Class. I am excited and nervous to see a new side of the internet, and look forward to bringing my take on readings to anyone interested!! I enjoy reading pretty much anything; from medical mysteries to fiction books with war dogs. Whether I get connected to one character, or just the situations they're having to deal with, I always find a way to put myself in their shoes and really immerse myself into their world. All of my books have left me holding my breath and constantly having to read the next chapter, even though it's 1am and I should've gone to bed three chapters ago. I hope you're ready for a wild ride into the world of Remmy's Readings!!
